Musical Director

Myra grew up in a musical family in Whangarei singing in a children's choir and receiving piano tuition from an early age. This led to studies in both Music and English literature at Canterbury and Auckland Universities.

When she came to live in South Auckland with a young family, music remained a strong interest and further tuition - in pipe organ and voice - led to full time music teaching and conducting.

Since joining the South Auckland Choral she has conducted a number of concerts and has regularly accompanied rehearsals and performances. Myra has been guest conductor of Pakuranga Choral Society and Franklin Community Choir. She is currently Director of Music at Manurewa High School.
