Scholarships

In 2005 the South Auckland Choral Society embarked on a scheme to award singing scholarships to talented and enthusiastic singers between the age of 16 and 25. We are proud to announce that since 2005, thirty-six young people (mostly teenagers) have been awarded scholarships of up to $1,000 each.

These were made possible by grants from a charitable organisation and have proved very popular with students in the tertiary age group who often use their scholarships to further their music education in many fields - music tuition, purchase of instruments etc. All recipients must commit themselves to attending regular choir rehearsals on a Tuesday evening, and singing in at least two of the major concerts during the year.
